The New Moon occurs at 0° Aries on Tuesday March 21, 2023 at 1:23pm in New York, USA. A new moon happens when both the Sun and Moon are zero degrees away from each other occupying the same degree of a sign. New moons are about initiation, beginnings and the new cycle of the moon. It is the time to start projects and plan your trajectory towards your goal. Plant now the seeds of future successes. New moons are more emotionally balanced than full moons and last for the two weeks preceding the full moon. The aspects to this new moon are a supportive sextile to powerful Pluto and a challenging square impatient Mars. Both of these aspects form a Learning Triangle with the emotional intuition of the new moon. The key is control and keeping a cool head. We may not be able to fully manage situations but we can regulate how we react to them. Mars, when challenged can be sharp, impatient, easily frustrated and angered and a bit of a sore looser. Here’s where you count to ten… or do what Ralph Kramden was told to do for his temper and repeat, “Pins and needles, needles and pins, it’s a happy man who grins.” This will be aided by the distancing energy of Pluto, who makes it easier to shut up and walk away when provoked. We can learn from the challenges placed before us by quickly reacting and then regretting it or by taking the high road and walking away with a cool head and with your reputation intact. Pluto rules the psychology and transformational energy behind what is happening. We may have to check in on ourselves to make sure we are on the right road for the right reason. Being accountable for our actions and confident in our delivery is what we should strive for. Misdirected feelings regarding sex, ego and their expression need to be channeled into healthier outlets such as exercise, entertainment, sport and creative self-expression. Dance it out! Sing it out! Act it out! Run it out! Stretch it out! Just don’t keep it in. Some healthy sex will bring release too.
