The New Moon occurs at 1° Capricorn on Friday December 23, 2022 at 5:16am in New York. The aspect is a challenging square to expansive and, possibly in this case, excessive Jupiter. New moon energy is active for the two weeks leading up to the full moon. New moon energy is about beginnings and the initiation of ideas and plans. This new moon falls close to the Winter Solstice which represents both the darkest day and the increasing of the light, like the Star card of the tarot (scroll down for the interpretation). Follow that star! This is a good new moon to set the trajectory of your goals. Aim high but focus on one or two priorities. The tendency with this new moon is to take on more than you can accomplish, get overwhelmed and to fall short of all your attempts. Jupiter rules optimism and loves a good party, betting, more food, more wine and more song. It also rules morals and honor. This can be challenged by Jupiter’s greedy side with loose morals and entitlement which will then bring harm to your reputation. It can also leave you with a bloated stomach that aches and a hangover as a result of blind gluttony and maybe a few words you’ll regret. Best to set your goals and be conscious and accountable for your intake. Try not to put your foot in your drunken mouth! There’s a bit of a need to put a cap on spending. Those who are moderately inclined will enjoy a boost of confidence, enthusiasm and opportunity to bring support and attention to their projects. Other aspect occurring are Venus trine Uranus which can open up invitations to fun and interesting ways to socialize. New places and new people can bring inspiring new social perspectives. An electric flirtation can occur at that holiday party. Love attractions under this influence are exciting embers but will burn out quickly. Mercury sextile Neptune will release a creative flow. Facts, methods and emotions can easily be combined to produce artistic results. This is great for singers, poets, writers, musicians, dancers and those involved in the intuitive and healing arts. Conversation and exchange between artists is laden with concrete and inspirational ideas. Let it flow. It comes back to you! It is a good time to seek alternative wellness experts.
